![]() It take a few design cycles to improve the low flush toilets, so you don't have to flush twice, wasting more water. What was the problem they were trying to fix? I unscrew the entire spout (5 gallon) to fill the mower w/ gas using a separate funnel. There was a thread on this a year or so ago- the newer EPA spouts which, to me personally, are a PITA. If anyone has questions on it, they could contact the company (USA) in advance to see if they would send a replaceable part if broken. The spout is pretty durable, so I don't see having any problems with it. If theres one on the shelf at HD will surely take a look at it though. I always hesitate to buy any tool that has a unique plastic part(s) that could potentially break/crack rendering the entire tool useless, to me the funnel on that can looks to be that part (unless that funnel part is easily attainable separately for low cost). I have the 5 gallon can, so I can only vouch for that one, but don't see any reason why their smaller cans should have any issues. These gas cans have a unique spout system that for me has eliminated leaking. ![]() I did some researching and came across the "Eagle Gasoline Cans". I had the same problem with leaking issues. Like you I too have a siphon (manual one), use occasionally. I have pondered this when/if the 5 gallon gets unwieldy. Thankfully the way my mower and snowblower are designed, pouring from the 5 gallon thru a funnel isn't bad.Ĭould also buy a separate smaller can to pour from, then fill it from the 5 gallon as needed on the ground so only tilting would be required (easy). My 5 gallon can was about $10 so I hesitate to buy a spout for $11ish (seems a going price). It surely beats holding a gas can with a funnel and the inevitable spills. To make the siphon hose, I just got a marine grade siphon bulb and put a 2' section of fuel line on the intake side and a 4' section on the outtake side. To get the gasoline in our vehicle, I just place a towel on top of the vehicle to avoid scratches, place the gas can on the towel, and then use a siphon hose routed into the gas inlet. We store a significant quantity of gasoline and rotate it through our vehicle. That's probably the easiest method for the OP's needs.
